Beard transplant / Istanbul

A beard should look like it belongs to you.

Not every beard needs to be fuller. Some need a stronger outline. Others need a more even connection between the cheeks, moustache and chin.

At Maximum Istanbul, beard restoration begins with your facial features, natural growth direction and donor supply—not a one-size-fits-all beard template.

02 Maximum Personalization

Your face sets the design.

A beard is part of your facial structure. The cheek line, sideburn connection, moustache and chin should work together without making the result look drawn on.

We start by understanding the shape you want, what facial hair you already have and what your own growth pattern can support. The goal is a believable design—not a trend imposed on every face.

03 Maximum Precision

Facial hair does not grow in one direction.

Beard hairs emerge at different angles across the face. Cheek hairs often lie close to the skin, while growth around the chin, jawline and moustache can change direction noticeably.

The planned angle, direction and distribution of grafts are central to a natural appearance. These details require careful clinical judgement and cannot be reduced to a graft count.

04 A plan for your pattern

Patches. Connections. Definition.

Beard transplantation may be considered for uneven cheek growth, sparse sideburn connections, limited jawline definition or selected areas of absent facial hair.

Some patients want subtle refinement. Others seek broader coverage. Existing hair, skin health, donor quality and the size of the area determine whether a transplant is appropriate and what improvement is realistic.

05 Maximum Assessment

First, we check what is possible.

Not every patchy beard requires a transplant. Natural genetic variation is common, and some patterns may change with age. Sudden or inflammatory facial-hair loss needs medical evaluation before cosmetic planning.

A responsible assessment considers age, skin condition, any history of scarring or folliculitis, existing facial hair and the available donor area. If a transplant is not advisable, we should say so.

06 Maximum Planning

The beard starts with the donor.

For many beard transplants, follicles are taken from the scalp donor area. Donor hair is not identical to facial hair: thickness, curl, texture and growth characteristics may differ.

The team must consider how donor hairs will blend with existing beard hair and what extraction means for future scalp needs. We do not treat the donor area as an unlimited resource.

07 The method serves the design

Precision before technique labels.

Follicular units may be harvested using FUE and implanted into carefully planned recipient sites. The specific instruments and implantation method depend on the treatment plan and the treating team’s clinical judgement.

What matters is the combination of graft handling, natural orientation, sensible density and skin safety—not whether a device name sounds more advanced.

08 Maximum Expertise

Experience shows in the details.

Maximum Istanbul works with a senior hair restoration expert with 16 years of personal experience in the field. His role in planning and design is part of the Maximum approach, alongside the licensed clinical team responsible for medical assessment and treatment.

For facial hair, small design decisions can be highly visible.

09 Realistic expectations

Fuller does not mean unlimited.

Beard coverage depends on the surface area, hair calibre, existing facial hair, graft availability and how the hairs lie against the skin.

One person may need small patches addressed; another may have broader goals that are not achievable in one session. We explain likely coverage and trade-offs after assessment, without promising a specific density or graft number online.

10 Safety is part of the plan

The face deserves careful decisions.

Any hair transplant is a medical procedure. Temporary redness, swelling, crusting and discomfort can occur, and there are risks including infection, scarring, ingrown hairs and an unnatural appearance if graft direction is poor.

The treating medical team reviews suitability, explains relevant risks and provides instructions for wound care. A careful plan is as important as the visual design.

11 Three days in Istanbul

A clear plan from arrival to aftercare.

For eligible international patients, our usual travel model involves arrival and consultation, a scheduled procedure day, and an early aftercare review before departure. Exact timing and travel suitability are confirmed individually.

Airport transfer, accommodation and treatment inclusions for beard transplantation must be confirmed in the written quotation.

12 What to expect

Healing comes before the final look.

Following a beard transplant, small crusts and redness may be visible in the recipient area. The skin needs time to recover, and transplanted hairs may shed before later regrowth.

New growth generally develops over months rather than days. The treating team will explain when washing, shaving, skin products and exercise can safely resume. Instructions vary with the technique and your healing.

13 Real results. Real patients.

Judge the beard in normal light.

When genuine results become available, we want visitors to see both sides of the face, natural expressions and the way hair sits at ordinary viewing distance—not just dramatic close-up images.

Every published result must include patient permission and accurate treatment attribution. Outcomes vary and prior work by an expert must not be presented as Maximum Istanbul patient results.

14 Clear information

A personal quote. No guesswork.

Beard transplantation costs depend on the area being treated, the plan and the services included. We provide a clear written quotation after reviewing your photos and discussing your goals.

Any beard price and travel inclusions will be stated separately before booking.

15 The Maximum Standard

Every detail has a reason.

Our philosophy connects experience, technology, precision, safety, attention, personalization and care. For beard restoration, those principles start with a design that suits your face and a plan that respects the donor area.

Maximum schedules no more than two patients per day across its stated treatment model. The exact availability and scheduling for beard procedures should be confirmed before booking.

16 Start with your goal

Show us what you want to change.

For an initial assessment, send clear photos of your face from the front, left and right sides, plus a photo of the donor area at the back of your head. Use natural light, without filters.

Tell us whether you want fuller cheeks, stronger connections or a specific beard outline. We can then explain the next steps and whether an in-person clinical evaluation is needed.

17 FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a beard transplant?

A beard transplant is a hair restoration procedure in which suitable follicles, often taken from the scalp, are implanted into selected facial areas. The treatment plan depends on donor characteristics, skin condition and the desired beard shape.

Can a beard transplant fill patchy cheeks?

It may help selected patients with sparse or uneven cheek growth. Suitability depends on the cause of the patchiness, existing facial hair, donor supply and medical assessment.

Can I change my beard shape with a transplant?

A transplant can sometimes improve an outline or connection, but the proposed shape must suit your facial features and available grafts. A realistic design is agreed during assessment.

Where does donor hair come from?

Scalp hair is commonly used. The treating team evaluates its texture and how it may blend with your existing facial hair, as well as the impact on your scalp donor reserve.

Will the new beard hair look natural?

Natural appearance depends on factors such as donor-hair characteristics, placement angles, growth direction, density and healing. Results vary, and no clinic can guarantee a particular look.

Is beard transplantation permanent?

Transplanted follicles may produce long-term growth, but survival and appearance vary. Surrounding natural facial hair and skin can also change over time.

Does a beard transplant leave scars?

FUE extraction and recipient implantation can leave small marks or scars. Their visibility varies with skin, technique and healing; a scar-free outcome cannot be promised.

How long does a beard transplant take?

Procedure duration varies with the size of the treatment area, graft plan and clinical approach. The team will provide an estimated schedule after assessment.

When can I shave after a beard transplant?

Do not shave or use facial products on the treated area until your medical team confirms it is safe. The timeline depends on healing and your individualized aftercare instructions.

Will the transplanted beard hair fall out?

Some shedding of transplanted hairs can occur during the early recovery period before later regrowth. The clinical team can explain the expected stages and warning signs.

How much does a beard transplant cost in Turkey?

The cost depends on the treatment plan and included services. Maximum provides an individual written quotation; the €2,500 advertised scalp treatment price should not be assumed to apply to beard procedures.

Can I combine a beard transplant with a scalp hair transplant?

Sometimes multiple treatment areas may be considered, but donor availability, procedure length, recovery and clinical suitability must be reviewed. Combined treatment is not automatically recommended.

Not a different face. A better-fitting plan.

A natural beard is not defined by the highest graft count. It is defined by the relationship between your features, your own hair and the decisions made throughout the procedure.

If you are considering a beard transplant in Turkey, start with a personal assessment. We will help you understand the options, limits and next steps.
