Maximum precision
The blade is a tool. Precision is the standard.
Sapphire FUE is often presented as if one instrument determines the outcome of an entire hair transplant. It does not. The decisions behind every recipient site matter far more than the name of the blade.
At Maximum Istanbul, sapphire-tipped blades may be used to create recipient sites where this method fits the individual plan. Every decision starts with your hairline, your existing hair, your donor supply and the direction in which your hair should grow.
- 16 years of senior hair-restoration experience.
- A maximum of two patients a day.
- One carefully planned treatment standard.
02 The essential distinction
Sapphire does not change how FUE extraction works.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) describes the removal of individual follicular units from the donor area, usually at the back and sides of the scalp.
In the term “Sapphire FUE,” sapphire usually refers to the blade material used to create small recipient sites in the area receiving hair. The follicular units still need to be carefully extracted, protected, prepared and implanted.
This is why the label alone cannot tell you whether a treatment is well planned or well performed.
03 What the instrument does
Small recipient sites. Big planning decisions.
Sapphire-tipped blades are used by some surgical teams to form recipient-site openings. The chosen blade shape and dimensions can help the operator create sites according to the treatment design.
But no blade can choose the right angle, depth, direction or distribution on its own. Those decisions require judgment, technique and a clear understanding of the patient’s existing hair.
At Maximum, instrument selection follows the plan. We do not design the plan around a marketing label.
04 The hairline
A natural hairline is designed, not stamped.
An effective hairline is not a perfectly straight row of grafts. It has to work with your facial proportions, hair characteristics, age, existing density and long-term pattern of hair loss.
Recipient sites must support appropriate direction and angle so that new hair can blend with the surrounding hair. The front transition also needs careful selection and distribution of follicular units.
The objective is a result that makes sense on your face — not a dramatic line that only looks good in an immediate post-treatment photo.
05 Existing hair
Work with the hair you already have.
Many patients are not completely bald in the area being treated. They have thin, miniaturized or unevenly distributed native hair.
Planning recipient sites around existing hair requires particular care. The team must consider the location and direction of current follicles, the risk of temporary shedding and whether additional density is realistic.
This is one reason a single implantation approach is not automatically the best choice for every zone.
06 Maximum technology
Sapphire FUE and DHI are not rivals.
Sapphire recipient-site creation and DHI implantation refer to different steps or approaches in a transplant. In selected areas, pre-made recipient sites may be appropriate; in others, implantation with a DHI-style pen may be useful.
At Maximum Istanbul, the combined Sapphire FUE + DHI approach is included in our standard planning for suitable scalp patients. Which method is used in each area depends on the clinical assessment and treatment design.
We do not sell the choice of technique as a premium upgrade.
07 Maximum expertise
Experience is what gives the tools direction.
Our senior hair-restoration expert brings 16 years of experience to the treatment-planning process, including the consultation, hairline design and key procedural decisions within the approved medical workflow.
Clinical responsibilities, including any steps that legally require a physician, remain with appropriately licensed professionals. Your plan and procedure are assessed and supervised according to the treating medical provider’s requirements.
The goal is straightforward: experienced judgment at the moments when details matter most.
08 Maximum precision
Angles. Direction. Spacing. Depth.
A recipient site is not simply a hole in the scalp. Its angle and direction affect how the implanted hair is positioned. Spacing and distribution must account for blood supply, skin condition, graft characteristics and the desired appearance.
Pursuing maximum graft numbers without considering these factors can work against a responsible plan. Density is a clinical decision, not a competition.
Our approach is to plan what the donor can safely support and what the recipient area can realistically achieve.
09 The donor area
The hair you take matters as much as the hair you place.
Every graft comes from a finite donor supply. Extraction has to consider donor density, hair calibre, pattern of loss and the possibility that the patient may need future treatment.
Overharvesting can leave the donor looking depleted. A sensible plan balances the recipient-area goals with preservation of the donor area.
That balance matters regardless of which recipient-site blade is used.
10 The treatment day
One procedure. Many connected decisions.
Your treatment begins with an in-person assessment and a review of the planned design. The treating medical team confirms medical suitability and the anesthesia plan before proceeding.
The donor area is prepared, follicular units are extracted and handled carefully, and the recipient area is prepared and implanted according to the approved plan. The exact sequence can vary with the selected techniques.
After the procedure, you receive washing instructions, medication guidance from the treating provider and a plan for follow-up.
11 Comfort & safety
Comfort matters. Medical suitability comes first.
Hair transplantation is generally performed under local anesthesia. You may still experience discomfort during anesthetic injections and some sensations during the procedure.
Your medical history, current medicines and relevant conditions must be reviewed before treatment. The licensed treating provider decides whether the procedure and anesthesia are appropriate.
No technique or instrument removes every risk. We prefer clear expectations to unrealistic promises.
12 Suitability
Not every patient needs the same plan.
Sapphire recipient-site creation can be considered when pre-made sites fit the recipient-area design. For patients with substantial native hair, specific hair characteristics, limited donor capacity or medical concerns, the plan may need to be adjusted.
An online assessment can provide an initial direction. The final graft estimate, technique selection and medical suitability depend on an in-person evaluation.
If surgery is unlikely to serve your long-term interests, a responsible recommendation may be to wait, consider medical treatment or not proceed.
13 Transparent pricing
€2,500. The method is not an upgrade.
At Maximum Istanbul, our published complete treatment rate is €2,500. For suitable scalp patients, the planned combination of Sapphire FUE and DHI is part of our standard approach — not an add-on sold by technique.
The treatment plan is based on clinical needs, not a price per graft. Your personal quotation should clearly confirm the services included, any exceptions and whether any optional anesthesia service carries an additional charge.
You should know what you are agreeing to before making a reservation.
14 Recovery
The instrument does not set your recovery clock.
After treatment, mild swelling, redness, tenderness and scabbing can occur. Early shedding of transplanted hairs is common, and visible growth usually develops gradually over several months.
Many patients begin noticing regrowth around months three to four, with progressive changes thereafter. Maturation may continue through 12–18 months, depending on the person and the treated area.
Your treating provider’s instructions take priority over any general timeline on this page. Neither sapphire blades nor DHI can guarantee faster healing or a particular result.
15 Real results
Judge the result. Not the technique label.
When comparing results, look at hairline shape, direction, the appearance of the donor area, the time since surgery and whether the photos were taken in similar lighting and angles.
A single close-up cannot tell the full story. Density, naturalness and donor preservation should be assessed together.
We publish patient results only with permission and accurate treatment context. Results vary, and another person’s outcome cannot predict yours.
16 FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
What is Sapphire FUE?
Sapphire FUE usually refers to FUE hair transplantation in which sapphire-tipped blades are used to create recipient sites. FUE itself describes the extraction of individual follicular units from the donor area.
Is Sapphire FUE better than regular FUE?
Not automatically. The blade material is only one factor. The plan, operator skill, donor management, graft handling and implantation are all important. A sapphire blade does not guarantee better growth or density.
What is the difference between Sapphire FUE and DHI?
Sapphire FUE commonly describes recipient-site creation using sapphire blades after FUE extraction. DHI commonly refers to implantation using an implanter pen. They are not simply two competing extraction methods.
Can Sapphire FUE and DHI be combined?
Yes, selected stages or areas can use different recipient-site and implantation approaches when clinically appropriate. Maximum includes combined planning for suitable patients.
Does Sapphire FUE leave scars?
FUE extraction can leave tiny donor-area scars, and recipient sites also need to heal. No responsible clinic should promise a scar-free procedure.
Is Sapphire FUE painless?
Local anesthesia is commonly used, but injections and some parts of the experience can be uncomfortable. Pain and anesthesia suitability vary.
How many grafts will I need?
This depends on the area, donor supply, hair characteristics and long-term goals. A personalized estimate follows assessment; more grafts are not automatically better.
Is Sapphire FUE suitable for the crown?
It may be part of a crown-restoration plan, but crown work needs special attention to the whorl pattern, coverage goals and donor reserves.
How long does recovery take?
Scabs and early irritation often improve over the first weeks. Visible growth typically takes months, with maturation potentially continuing to 12–18 months.
How much does Sapphire FUE cost at Maximum Istanbul?
Our published complete treatment rate is €2,500. Technique selection for suitable scalp patients is not sold as an upgrade. Your written quote should confirm exact inclusions and any optional extras.
